Abstract

CONSTITUTION: In the automatic winder for tape, string or the like, the winding width W restricting the moving range of a traversing means 2 can freely be set and adjusted by variable-position limit switches 22 23, and the traversing means 2 is reciprocated between the limit switches by a clutch 21 capable of rotating forward and backward. Acordingly, there is obtained a stepless winding width as compared with the case of conventional traversing means of a fixed winding width, and the desired winding width is obtained easily and securely by only the position adjustment of the limit switches 22, 23. Further, since a guide roller 14 is arranged closely to a rotary bobbin 1 and urged against the winding surface, the winding surface can be leveled and a rigid winding is obtained.
