CONSTITUTION:A lower portion of a combustion flame formed at a flame port portion of a burner head 19 is contacted with a tapered flange 13 of an evaporating chamber 12 and a flame keeping effect is given here to make a lift of the flame hard while a feedback of heat from the flame to the flange 13 is planned to reduce an electrical conductivity of a sheath heater 16. A portion of the flange 13 is provided with a recessed portion 14 to a position adjacent to an outer periphery of the burner head 19. According to this method, only the recessed portion 14 is reduced in keeping the flame keeping effect of the flange 13 and the lift phenomenon generated at an abnormal time such as an air excessing condition, an oxigen lacking condition or the like is generated in this recessed portion 14 early and surely, thereby, a combustion device may be stopped by a control circuit cooperating with a flame detecting device 26 such as a flame rod or the like.
