Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure a steady travelling of a magnetic tape with no fault caused for a magnetic tape recorder, by setting the length of the subsequent interblock gap (IBG) to the standard level when the write information number is recognized more than the prescribed level and then setting the IBG length to an optional long value when the information number is recognized less than the prescribed level, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: When the writing is given to a magnetic tape via a magnetic tape storage device, the signal 1 showing the amount equivalent to one frame of the write information is supplied to the counter logic C. When the output signal 2 shows that the write information number is more than N units, the timer logic l0 is actuated via the signal 3 showing the end of writing of the information. Then the writing action is completed by the signal 4 showing the end of production of the interblock gap (IBG) of a standard value. In case when the logic C delivers the signal showing the information number is less than N, the timer logic ln is actuated. And the writing action is completed by the IBG production end signal 5 longer than the standard level by an optional value. As a result, a steady travelling is secured for the magnetic tape with elimination of the fault such as a loss of the data block and the like.
