Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce variation in output level and power consumption by cutting one of two transistors off while conducting the other in a saturation state in response to a supplied change-over signal. CONSTITUTION:With switch 12 open, transistor TR16 turns off, and TR17 turns on. Then, the collector current flows to resistance 18 and magnetic head driving circuit 19. The low-level collector voltage of TR17 is clamped to a value lower than the earth potential by the collector-emitter voltage of TR17 in a saturation state. In the saturation state, the TR collector-emitter voltage is extremely small, and therefore fluctuations of the voltage are small, stabilizing the read operation of circuit 19. With switch 12 closed, TR16 turns on, and TR17 turns off. The collector current of TR16 flows to resistor 18, circuit 19 and magnetic heads 20-23. At this time, the high-level collector voltage of TR16 has a value lower than DC voltage V7 by the emitter-collector voltage of TR in the saturation state. Therefore, circuit 19 can perform stable write operation.
