Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the deterioration of frequency characteristics and the deterioration of picture quality and an inversion phenomenon due to beat interference with regard to a dubbing system for color video signals, by mixing a low-frequency converted chrominance signal and luminance signal to be frequency-modulated and by recording the mixture direct on a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A frequency-division multiplex signal recorded on recording medium A' is reproduced by reproducing head 12 and passed through low-pass filter 23 to obtain a low-frequency converted chrominance signal, which is level-adjusted and applied to one input terminal of mixer 25. Further, a luminance signal to be frequency-modulated is obtained from the above-mentioned reproduced signal by high- pass filter 15 and applied to the other input terminals of mixer 25 after the compensation of frequency deterioration, averaging of upper and lower side-band waves, the compensation of the frequency decrease of a carrier component, removal of fluctuations of amplitude, and removal of a disused low-frequency component. The output of mixer 25 is recorded on recording medium B. By such a dibbing system, the occurrence of an inversion phenomenon can be prevented, frequency characteritics, pulse characteristcs and linearity can be improved and beat interference is also reduced, so that the deterioration of picture quality is prevented.
