Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate operarting mistakes by a method wherein regenerative control is gained only by changing-over a sanding gear switch, while power running can be regained instantly after an electric car is stopped, completing the braking process.
CONSTITUTION: If a transfer switch 9 is closed on the F side of a contact, and an accelerator pedal is treaded, a constant point 10c is closed on the side of 10a. Simultaneously, a transistor 52 is actuated by the output of a polarity detector 20, while a contact point 51 of an electromagnetic switch 50 is closed. Thence the actuating ratio of a chopper 3 is controlled in proportion to the amount of treading the accelerator pedal. If the contact point of the transfer switch 9 is changed from F to R, the contact point 10c and 11c are changed to 10b and 11a sides, respectively. Since no output is generated in the polarity detector 20, leaving the contact point 51 open, the actuation of the chopper 3 causes the current in an armature A to increase. If the output of a current detector 14 reaches the specified value, the chopper 3 is interrupted to operate the regenerative brake. When voltage between both the ends of the armature A becomes almost zero, the switch 51 is turned off by the output of the polarity detector 20, changing the regenerative mode to power running one.
