Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify a device by a method wherein a thyristor group belonging to a half part of a bridge is controlled at a control angle in leading phase to an AC power voltage and the group belonging to the other half part of the bridge is controlled at a control angle in lagging phase. CONSTITUTION:Where thystiros T3, T5 of the first bridge are conducting and also thyristor T13, T14 of the second bridge are conducting, a thyristor T11 to be ignited newly stands at a leading phase angle -alpha, therefore an auxiliary thyristor TQ is ignited, a commutating capacitor C extinguishes arc of the thrysitor T13 through discharging capacitor C commutating reactor L thyristor T13 diode D6 thyristor TQ capacitor C and then ignites the thyristor T11. Then, the thryistor T15 to be iginted newly stands at a lagging phase angle +alpha, therefor it is ready for normal operation of separately-excited commutation, and hence is commutated from the thyristor T14 by igniting the thyristor T15. A forced extinction of arc is carried out similarly at the first bridge side and the second bridge sdie alternately. Thus a device can be miniaturized without decreasing a reactive power compensating effect and a higher harmonic decreasing effect.
