Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve winding characteristics to drums and sheaves by using a flexible type optical cable between a main cable and a submarine optical repeater and providing a corrugated pipe in said flexible type optical cable.
CONSTITUTION: A submarine optical cable 2 is connected by a submarine optical repeater (1) and a flexible type optical cable 3 is led via a connected part 4 to this repeater 1. Additionally, the cable 3 is formed to the same type as that of the cable 2 and a thin-walled corrugated pipe 3b of a waved section having flexibility is disposed in the inner side of the sheath 3a of PE covering. In this way, this anchoring device electrically and optically connects the submarine optical cable and the submarine optical repaeater by using the cable of good flexibility and a small permissible radius of curvature containing the thin-walled corrugated pipe and therefore even if the cable of the repeater end part wound on a drum or sheave bends, the cable is maintained safely.
