Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled dispersion having improved dispersibility in water and wettability, spreadability and fixability to orange fruits, etc., and useful as a fungicide for oranges and banana, by compounding thiabendazole, a sugar fatty acid ester, and shellac as essential components.
CONSTITUTION: The wettability, spreadability and fixability of an aqueous dispersion of thiabendazole to the surface of oranges and banana, and the dispersibility of thiabendazole in water, are improved by adding a sugar fatty acid ester and shellac as essential components to the dispersion. Addition of an adjuvant component comprising sodium citrate or sodium polyphosphate further improves the wettability, etc. The dispersion can be stored for a long time in the form of a homogeneous concentrated dispersion, and diluted easily and uniformly in use. The dispersion can be used as a highly effective and safe fungicide for the oranges and banana because it gives a uniform and tough thiabendazole film on the surface of said fruits.
