Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit large-sized cars with large width in addition to compact cars to be mounted on a vehicle transporting truck such as two floor type semitrailer, by a link arm device provided between an upper deck and chassis to move vertically the upper deck.
CONSTITUTION: An upper deck 6 consisting of deck sections 6aW6c is arranged above a chassis 1 having a recess 1a in the central portion, adjacent deck sections being pivotably connected with each other by a lateral pivot pin 7. Upper ends of upper links 11a of a linkage 11 are respectively pivoted to both of rear and front ends of intermediate deck section 6b by pins, and lower ends of lower links 11b pivoted to the chassis 1. The linkage 11 is constituted to move vertically by a link arm device 19 consisting of a hydraulic cylinder 20 and slide post 21. Also, free ends of the front and rear deck sections 6a, 6c support the chassis 1 respectively through link arm devices 42, 30.
