Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal type persistent current switch with good heating and cooling characteristics and superior comformity by inserting good thermal conductors contacting a part of the conductors with liquid helium and burying heating wires into the synthetic resin layers of the thermal type persistent current switch. CONSTITUTION:A persistent current switch body consists of superconductor wires 8 connected to superconductor lead wires 10 in a refrigerant such as liquid helium or the like, heating wires 10 wound around the wires 8 which transforms the wire 8 to the normal conduction, resin layers 15 sealing the wires 8 and the wires 10 into to bobbins 14 and fixing as one body, good thermal conductors 17 inserted into the layers 15 and partly contact with the refrigerant, and heating wires 16 heating the conductors 17. To turn the superconductor wires 8 off, heating characteristics of 8 is improved by heating 8 with the heating wire 10 and 16 by passing currents therethrough. In turning the wires 8 on, cooling characteristics will be improved by contacting a part of the conductors 17 with the refrigerant.
