Abstract
PURPOSE:To desalt sea water in a simple apparatus at a low cost by a method wherein a pressure tank connecting a filter element is sinked to 300-500m below from the sea level to filter sea water and the obtained fresh water is taken out by introducing a compressed gas under pressure. CONSTITUTION:When a gas supply pipe 8 is opened to the atmosphere and the pressure tank 1 is sinked to a vicinity of 300-500m below from the sea level, sea water is introduced into a housing 4 and sea water is filtered by the filter element 2 and the obtained fresh water is accumulated in the pressure tank 1. When said fresh water is reached to an appropriate amount, a gas is supplied to the pressure tank 1 at a pressure of 30-50kg/cm<2> through the gas supply pipe 8 to recover said fresh water from a water take-out pipe 9.
