Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a braking effort which is free from a load to a car by providing within a valve body two pistons one of which has valve means disposed in a passage therein while the other piston has a deceleration responsive valve disposed therein with both pistons being urged by respective preloaded springs.
CONSTITUTION: A valve body 12 has a stepped cylinder bore 11 formed therein which includes a bore portion 13 having the first piston 20 accommodated therein and another bore portion 15 having an annular member 27 accommodated therein. A smaller diameter portion 25 of the first piston 20 is inserted in a center hole 26 of the annular member 27. A valve element 38 is disposed in a passage 35 in the piston 20 and is urged towards a valve closing direction by a valve spring 36. The second piston 42 is accommodated in bore portions 17, 18 of the cylinder bore 11. A spherical valve element 51 is disposed for rolling motion within a valve chamber 50 formed in the second piston 42 and cooperates with a valve seat member 60 to form a deceleration responsive valve 62. The piston 42 is urged by a preloaded spring 76, and a variable throttle means 59 is constituted between a projection of the piston 42 and a cover member 44.
