The lighting of the high voltage discharge tube stabilizes after about 5min from starting of discharge. When the high voltage discharge tube fails due to a temporary drop of the source voltage, a discharge gap starts to operate immediately and the discharge lamp emits light depending on the luminous characteristics of the discharge gap 13.
