Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the discrimination of fish groups etc. near the sea bottom easy by dividing the image screen of a cathode ray tube display device to two regions, and displaying scanning sonar video in one of them and macro-displaying an arbitrary distance width of the video in the other one. CONSTITUTION:A transmitter-receiver 1 arrayed with multiple vibrators, a peramplifier group 2, and the 1st change-over device 3 that can be changed over by a sweep signal generating circuit 6 are provided, and underwater objects are displayed on a CRT5 via a main amplifier 4. The video signal is stored for every direction into a memory 12 via an A/D converter 11 and this signal is changed over with the 2nd change-over device 13 by a bearing beam signal selecting circuit 14, to control the main amplifier 4; at the same time, the signals from a DC value adder, subtractor 17, 17' are changed over with sweep signal change-over circuits 18, 18', and are applied to a deflecting coil 7. Hence, the polar coordinate display of the underwater objects is made in one region of the image screen of the CRT5 and the macro- display of the shape resembling to that of the video may be made in the other, whereby the discrimination is made easy.
