PURPOSE:To provide melody of correct intervals by multiplying the output signal of a reference oscillator by a multiplying circuit, making the approximate temperament scale by an arbitrary frequency divider from this signal thereby sounding the melody. CONSTITUTION:The signal from an oscillator 1 is made into time information by a clocking circuit 2, and is displayed in a time display part 4. On the other hand, when the time of an alarm memory circuit 10 and the content of the clocking circuit 1 concide, the output from a coincidence circuit 11 is applied to a scale control circuit 7 which stores melody information. This signal is applied to an arbitrary frequency divider 6 to which the signal multiplied to a frequency twice that of the reference signal in a multiplying circuit 5 is applied. The divider divides the multiplied signal by 1/N and generates a scale signal, by which a sound generating device 9 is driven. Hence, it is possible to make the extremely accurate approximate temperament scale in a 400-1,300Hz frequency range with the arbitrary frequency divider 6, and the melody of ample musical characteristic may be produced.
