Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the water-stopping characteristic to the metal surface of a pipe end part by removing the synthetic resin coating layer of the inside surface from pipe end for a fixed length, securing a thermally expandable synthetic resin adapter thereto thence inserting and securing a collared adapter longer than said adapter thereto.
CONSTITUTION: A flange 2 is welded to the end of a lined pipe 1 which has been removed of a synthetic resin coating layer 3 of a fixed length from the pipe end. Next, a thermally expandable synthetic resin adapter 5 having length approximately equal to the length of the exposed metal surface and thickness approximately equal to that of the coating layer 3 is inserted, thence the adapter 5 is heated to expand whereby it is secured to the inside surface of the metal at the end part of the pipe 1 by way of an adhesive agent. Thence, a collared adapter 6 which has an outside diameter approximately equal to the inside diameter of the pipe provided with the coating layer 3, is longer in pipe length than the adapter 5 and has a collared part 61 at one end is inserted to the pipe end in such a manner that the collared part 61 surface contacts the flange 2 surface and is secured by way of an adhesive agent. Then, the connecting line 7 between the layer 3 and the adapter 5 is covered by the adapter 6 and therefore the water stopping characteristic of the pipe 1 with respect to the metal surface is improved.
