Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a connector for optical fiber where the centering work is not required, by using the plastic plug which is molded into a prescribed form in one body. CONSTITUTION:The external form of plug 1 molded in one body with plastic consists of taper outside diameter part 2 equipped with flange part 3 and cylindrical outside diameter part 4. In plug 1, insertion hole 7 to which the housing part of fiber cable 14 can be inserted is provided concentrically to the outer diameter part, and taper inside diameter part 8 which continues from hole 7 and is reduced up to the outside diameter of fiber core 11 is provided, and core insertion hole 9 is provided continuously to part 8. Cable 14 which has reinforced fiber part 13, nylon coated part 12, and core part 11 exposed successively is inserted to this plug 1 an is fixed by adhesive 15. Two plugs formed in this manner are inserted to double- ported receptacle 19 and are fixed by cap nut 16, thus forming the connector where the centering work is not required.
