Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve cleaning performance without obstruction to developing capability, by providing an insulating coating layer on the surface of a conductive nonmagnetic shield body and by providing a conductive nonmagnetic substance layer on this insulating coating layer to constitute a sleeve. CONSTITUTION:Insulating coating layer 8 is provided on the surface of conductive nonmagnetic shield body 4 provided on the outside circumference of the magnet, and conductive nonmagnetic substance layer 10 is coated on this layer 8, thereby obtaining a magnetic suction means. This magnetic suction means is arranged at a prescribed interval from the drum surface; and at the development time, the earth or the bias is applied to outside magnetic substance coating layer 10, and electric charge is injected to the conductive magnetic toner to perform development; and at the cleaning time, outside nonmagnetic substance coating layer 10 is insulated from the earth, and the magnetic toner is sucked and removed from the recording material surface due to magnetic force and electrostatic force by the bias voltage applied to the nonmagnetic shield body. As a result, the device used for cleaning also is performed where the cleaning performance is improved without obstruction to developing capability.
