Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance ejection stability, ejection response and continuous recordability, by adding a sulfolane derivative to a recording solution used for ink jet recording.
CONSTITUTION: Preferably at least 2%, based on the total weight of a recording solution, sulfolane derivative of the formula (wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are H or methyl) is added to a recording solution used for ink jet recording, in which a droplet ejected from an ejection hole located at a recording head, is flied onto a recording surface. The compound of the formula is preferably sulfolane, 2,4-dimethylsulfolane, etc. The purpose recording solution is obtained by using, as a liquid medium, the compound alone or a mixture of the compound with a liquid medium such as water, methyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol, and dissolving or dispersing a dye or a pigment in the liquid medium.
