Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain plastic sheet processed goods having a reverse taper part and the like by a method wherein a die having a special indentation with an upper contracted part and a punch having an elastic projection part manufactured from heat-resisting, elastic resin and the like.
CONSTITUTION: A female mold 1, made from rigid matter such as steel etc. is equipped with a special indentation 2 such as a narrow groove or a hollow, etc. near the upper opening in the form of an arc internal surface or a reverse taper, while a male mold 3 is equipped with a projection 4 which is rich in heat-resistance, elasticity such as silicone rubber etc. in the part corresponding to this indentation 2. A hard PVC sheet 6, for example, is laid between both molds 1, 3 and the sheet 6 is pressed as it is heated and softened. The projection 4 does not degenerate on account of its heat resistance, undergoes elastic deformation when it passes near the narrow opening part, the sheet 6 is brought into close contact with the inside of the indentation 2 by means of stability of the projection when the projection is pushed in thoroughly and is deformed plastically along the indentation 2. Then the male mold 3 is separated from the female one 1 to take out a molded article.
