Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable readable printing of letters, by a method wherein a wire dot of a subject printing head consists of the first group and the second group wire dot arranged perpendicularly to the moving direction, and the second group is arranged so that it is prevented from overlapping in the moving direction with the first group. CONSTITUTION:A wire dot 1 of a printing head for serial printer, for use with a serial printer, such as data processors, consists of the first wire dot group 7 and the second wire dot group 8 which are arranged perpendicularly to the moving direction. Furthermore, the second wire dot group 8 is shifted in position so that it is prevented from overlapping in the moving direction with the first wire dot group 7, and a control circuit, which drives the wire dots 8 belonging to the second group after the wire dots 7 belonging to the first group are driven and after they move in the moving direction by a given distance, is mounted. This shortens a distance between the dots of letters to be printed, and thereby a letter shape is formed explicitly.
