Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a uniform line arrangement of a print data, by using print elements of the front row and the back row, which are arranged zigzag, alternately.
CONSTITUTION: Print elements 1a of the front row and print elements 1b of the back row which are arranged zigzag are shifted from each other respectively by length (m) vertically. In case that alphanumeric and Kana (Japanese syllabary) characters are printed with, for example, vertical 9 dots, they are printed by upper nine print element 1a of the front row, and they are printed in the next line after line feed by nine print elements 1b of the back row. Print elements of the front row and the back row are switched for every arbitrary number of lines. When print elements of the front row and print elements of the back row are used alternately for every arbitrary number of lines in the manner, the life of print elements is extended, and the space between lines is fixed independently of the vertical shift between print elements of the front row and the back row.
