Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution and maintenance as well as to increase the reliability of the subject safety device by a method wherein a speed checking apparatus and each receiver used for two different signsl systems, i.e. the automatic train stop signal system (ATS) used on the trains operated on the suburban railroad line and the automatic train control signal system (ATC) used on the trains operated on the subway railroad line, are formed into one unitary body for use on the trains operated through the above two railroad lines, and signal processing circuits are formed into a termary system.
CONSTITUTION: The ATS and the ATC signals are sent to the circuits 41W57, 31 and 27 which generate the speed pattern corresponding to the currently indicated signal on each signal route through an on-train unit 6 and a receiving apparatus 11 respectively. This speed pattern is compared with the train speed of the speed detecting circuits 20W23 at a comparison circuit 24 and a brake control is performed. And the above circuits, excluding the ATS and ATC receiving circuit input sections 41 and 49, are digitally processed, they are formed into a unitary body of processing circuit 40, it is formed into a three-circuit system and its output is turned out from the common section by obtaining a majority rule out of the three circuits.
