Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect components like IC in a relay device, by using an abnormal voltage induced in a cable incorporated with a coaxial cable or in parallel and discharging the abnormal voltage invaded to the input or output side of the relay device by means of three-pole gas arrestor to ground. CONSTITUTION:A center conductor 3A of an input side coaxial cable 3 is connected to the input side of a relay device 2, a center conductor 4A of an output side coaxial cable 4 is connected to the output side, and between the cables 3 and 4, is connected with a cable 5 of inserted pair. Further, between the input and output side of the relay device 2 and secondary windings W12 and W22 of pulse transformers PT1 and PT2 connected in series to the cable 5, three-pole gas arrestors AR3 and AR4 are connected, and a 2-pole gas arrestor AR5 is connected to the connecting point of transformers T1, T2. Further, the abnormal voltage invaded to the relay unit 2 is used to discharge the arrestors AR3, AR4, allowing surely to discharge the abnormal voltage invaded to the relay device 2 and to protect the components like ICs in the relay device 2.
