Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an electrostatic image developing toner superior in development and fixation performance by polymerizing a mixture of a viscous liquid organic compound and a compound capable of cross-linking polymerization.
CONSTITUTION: A monomer capable of cross-linking polymerization, such as styrene is added by 0.005W20wt% to an organic compound, such as an aromatic petroleum resin or an acrylic resin, of a viscous liquid at normal temperature or having ≤40°C softening point and they are polymerized by an ordinary method. In this polymerization stage or after it, necessary colorant, charge controlling agent, etc. are added. The polymer is granulated to make a toner. This toner has good affity with transfer paper and it is advantageous in applying a pressure fixation method.
