Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a good image even on plain paper, by imparting predetermined characteristics to a magnetic toner consisting of a binder resin and a magnetic material and forming electrically conductive paths between a developing sleeve and a photoreceptor in developing.
CONSTITUTION: Toner T consists of conductive magnetic material 11 serving also as a colorant and binder 12, and acts as a conductor in optional direction XX and as an insulator in direction YY. Magnetic material 11 in an amount of 30W70wt% based on the total amount of raw material of toner T is heat molten, cooled, and pulverized to make a one-component type magnetic toner of 8W18μm mean particle diameter and 1.8W2.2 true specific gravity. This toner T is borne by magnetic attraction on developing sleeve 6 turning around fixed magnets 9, conductive paths via toner T are formed between sleeve 6 and photoreceptor 2, charge of polarity reverse to that of an electrostatic latent image is injected to toner T to develop it, and a recorded image is formed on transfer paper.
