Abstract

PURPOSE:To shunt a part of currents flowing through a heat generating resistor to a thermistor, to improve thermal stability and to obtain excellent printing recording quality by mounting a thermistor layer apart from a wear resisting layer so as to contact with a heat generating resistor layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermistor layer 5 is mounted apart from a wear resisting layer 4 so as to contact with a heat generating resistor layer 2 disposed onto a heat resisting insulator substrate 1. The parallel resistance with the resistor layer 2 of a thermistor decreases with a temperature rise of a resistor, and a part of currents flowing through the resistor is shunted to the thermistor. Thus, heat expands to the thermistor layer 5 not being divided every dot, and temperature distribution widens. Consequently, a peak temperature of a heating element drops, temperature distribution widens, excellent printing quality is obtained at a low temperature, and thermal stability is gained owing to a low peak temperature.
