Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a color copy with good color balance, by providing a means that detects the surface potential of a photoreceptor which is caused by a latent image with every color separation light, a means that measures the surface potential at plural points of an original and a means that displays selectively the surface potential. CONSTITUTION:A standard concentration plate 701 is set at a prescribed position on a platen glass 3. A mode switch is turned ON to supply a mode selection signal to a main sequence controller. Then a copying device is driven without energizing a developing machine 41 and a feed roller 53. The plate 701 of ten steps forms a latent image to a photoreceptor 1 with the standard light volume of a lamp 5. This latent image is detected by a potentiometer 43 and displayed. The potential of a latent image having a stepwise concentration is displayed by display elements 801-804 and 805-808. Thus the potential is finely read and in ten steps from the bright part through the dard part by detecting the potential of a latent image at a desired step.
