Abstract

PURPOSE: To make small the device and prevent the generation of defective products by a method wherein a predetermined length of feed of a frame in a single molding cycle is divided into a plurality of split feeds and the frame setting position in a mold is detected by a sensor.
CONSTITUTION: In an insert molding method, a lead frame 1 is molded by using an insert molding device comprised of a fixed mold 10, a movable mold 11, an ejecting plate 12, a guide plate 15 for the lead frame 1, a cam 17, a frame feed device 18, a support 20 for the device 18, and a switch S. In the method, the predetermined feed of the frame 1 in each single molding cycle is divided into a plurality of split feeds, thereby making small the feed device. In addition, the correctness of the frame setting position in the mold is detected by the sensor S5, thereby setting the frame 1 in the mold correctly and preventing defective molding due to a staggering of position.
