Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent overheating of the heat collector without using any shutter opening and closing device by connecting the heat receiving parts of gas-containing heat pipes to the heat pipes, bringing the heat receiving parts into thermal contact with headers, and further bringing the radiating parts into contact with outer air.
CONSTITUTION: Solar heat absorbed by a heat collecting plate (not shown) upon normal operation, is transported to heat receiving parts 6 by means of heat pipes 13. The heat receiving parts 6 come into contact with a header 14 but is transported out of the heat collector by means of a heat medium flowing through the header 14. When the flow quantity of the heat medium of the header 14 decreases for some reason or other, the temperatures in the heat collecting plate, pipes 13, and header 14 rise up, and the gas-containing heat pipes 1 assume the same temperature distribution and the temperature of radiation fins rises up. Therefore, heat accumulated in the heat collector is discharged out of the header case 15 connected to the radiation fins toward the outer air.
