PURPOSE:To separate non-magnetic metals efficiently from magnetic metals and nonmetals by treating a mixture of magnetic metals, non-magnetic metals and nonmetals with revolving rolls where rotating alternating fields are formed on the surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A mixture 6 of non-magnetic metals such as A , Cu or the like, magnetic metals such as Fe or the like and nonmetals such as sand or the like is supplied between two pieces of revolving rolls 1, 1' onto 1. The rolls 1, 1' revolve in opposite directions A, A', and permanent magnet rolls 4, 4' having plural magnetic poles in the inside are revolved in the opposite directions B, B' from the outer rolls. The axis X connecting both rolls 1, 1' is inclined at an angle theta to a vertical direction Y. The roll 4 is offcentered from the roll 1 by l2. The mixture supplied to the surface of the roll 1 is separated of the nonmagntic metals 6a on the surface into a vessel 8 by the rotating alternating fields.
