CONSTITUTION:In case of EX=0 where no error occurs on a forward line 10a, respective bits of a bit pattern R'X inputted directly from the forward line 10a are coincident with the bits of an excessive bit pattern R''X from a dividing circuit 11; a comparing circuit 12 outputs a coincidence signal, and a bit pattern generating circuit 14 outputs a signal with the 1st bit pattern P0X. In case of EXnot equal to 0 where an error occurs, the bit pattern R'X and R''X are not coincident; the comparing circuit 12 outputs an anticoincidence signal, and the bit pattern generating circuit 14 outputs a signal with the 2nd bit pattern P1X. By making a check part for frames of a reception side provided with ''or else'' exclusive ''or'' between the normal check bit pattern R''X and a specific bit pattern PiX, the state information which corresponds to the PiX is returned.
