Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct the surface potential almost equal to the ideal value, by providing a control circuit which corrects a signal voltage for a plurality of times, when the surface potential detected at a detection means is not almost equal to the ideal value. CONSTITUTION:A surface potential control circuit 6 receives a conversion voltage Vc as an input, and if the surface potential on a photoreceptor is deffer- ent from the specified surface potential, i.e., an ideal surface potential to be charged for the photoreceptor, a signal voltage E for surface potential correction is applied to a high voltage transformer 2, a current value Ic of corona charger is corrected so that the surface potential is an ideal value VO. Thus, in the surface potential controller of this invention, even if the relation between the photoreceptor and the corona charger is varied, since the correction control of the surface potential is made by looking into the state of variance at all times, the potential can be corrected into the ideal surface potential state with very high accuracy.
