Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable actuating of an alarm when a regulat ink discharge fails to be performed, by a method wherein an electrode is installed to an ink flow path in a titled printer placed on a portable compact computer to detect ink discontinuity due to vibration. CONSTITUTION:In a condition that a printing is performed with a rubber cap 5 released, the rubber cap 5 is positioned apart from a forward end of an ink nozzle 4, and a terminals 11 and 12 make contact with each other to prevent an alarm indication lamp from lighting on. In case, however, ink 2 is brought to discontinuity resulting from the mixture of air bubbles at a certain part between a subtank 1 and the ink jet nozzle 4, a part between an electrode 6 and a metal fine wire 9 is brough to a non-energizing condition, and this causes lighting on of a lamp.
