Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent leaking of ink due to vibration, by a method wherein a valve device is mounted to an ink feed path in a titled printer placed on a portacle computer, and an ink flow is shut off when the printer is in no operating state. CONSTITUTION:When a carriage 1, whereon an ink jet nozzle is placed, is brought to a stop at a position allowing a carriage 1 to wait for, a power source is brought to OFF to excite an electromagnet 5. With the electromagnet 5 excited, an armature 5a is attracted to a core 5d, an operating lever 2, engaging a bending part 5b at the end of the core 5a, turns clockwise centering around a shaft 10 to press a valve rod 3b, and as a result, a diaphragm valve 3a seats a valve seat 3d to block an open end of a tube 6. This prevents ink from an ink tank from flowing to the carriage 1.
