Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a crest part of boots from interfering with a wire rod of spring in a device where a coil spring is built in a shock absorber main unit and a bellows-like dust boots is provided in the periphery of the coil spring, by forming the crest part of the above described boots to helical shape extending along the wire rod of the above described spring. CONSTITUTION:A coil spring 2 is built in a shock absorber main unit 1, and a bellows-like dust boots 3 is provided in the periphery of the coil spring. Then the above described spring 2 is constituted by spirally winding a resilient metallic wire rod 2a, while the above described boots 3 is vertically provided with plural steps of crest parts 3a expanding to the outside. Here the above described crest parts 3a are diagonally formed and successively arranged in a continuous state to helical shape as a whole in an equal phase and pitch to that for said spirally wound wire rod 2a, thus such a state is obtained that the crest parts 3a are placed along throughout the total length of the wire rod 2a. Further a flange 4 protruding inward of root parts 3b of said boots 3 is integrally formed and fronted in each gap of the wire rod 2a to prevent generation of noise at compression of the spring 2.
