Abstract

PURPOSE:To exercise adequate level control by detecting the ascent inclination and descent inclination of the envelope of an audio signal and by performing the control matching with the timing. CONSTITUTION:An audio signal led to an output terminal 13 is supplied to a level detecting circuit 14 to detect the mean value of the audio signal digitally, and its output is supplied to a microcomputer 15. An audio signal inputted to an input terminal 11, on the other hand, is supplied to a timing detecting circuit 16 to discriminate between the ascent inclination and descent inclination of the develope of the audio signal, and the analysis information is supplied to the microcomputer 15 as information on the timing of the level correction start when level control is exercised. A digital control signal generated by the microcomputer 15 on the basis of the output of the level detecting circuit 14 is supplied to a level control interface part 17 at the control timing of the timing detecting circuit 16 to be converted into an analog DC signal, which is supplied to a losser 12.
