EXAMPLE: Methylpropyl-5-(4-methylphenoxy)pentylsulfonium iodide.
USE: It has immunoregulating, carcinostatic, antiallergic activities, etc., and is extremely usuful as a drug.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by reacting the sulfide com pound of formula II with the compound of formula R2X in a solvent (e.g. methanol) or in the absence of solvent at about -30W+150°C. The reaction is optionally carried out in a closed vessel. The amount of the compound of formula R2X is preferably 1W10mol per 1mol of the sulfide compound of formula II.
