Abstract
PURPOSE: To continuously bake particulate easily fusible at a high temp. in a gas stream in good thermal efficiency by a method wherein a dense mixing layer and a dilute mixing layer are continuously formed in a shaft furnace with a hollow tower structure and the particulate is baked by providing a temp. gradient as well as the baked particulate is dropped and discharged therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: A precipitating layer 11 of a particulate is provided to an upper part of the shaft furnace 1 with a hollow tower structure and, under said layer, a dense mixing layer 4 with a slow flow speed of a raised gas stream and a dilute mixing layer 5 with a high flow speed are continuously formed. When a temp. gradient is provided between both mixing layers 4, 5 to bake said particulate, a gas temp. discharged from both mixing layers 4, 5 is lowered and a consumption amount of a fuel is reduced. Further, by presenting said upper precipitating layer 11, a flow speed in both mixing layers 4, 5 is made fast. The baked particulate is dropped by breaking a balance of a raising gas stream from a lower part of the furnace and a staying amount of the particulate in the mixing layers 4. 5. Said baked particulate is continuously discharged from a discharge port 8 of a furnace bottom part while suspended and floated in the raising gas stream.
