Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the short circuit between the electrodes without any insulated layer and to reduce the reflection of a received wave sound with a light- weight structure for a wave transmitter/receiver, by forming an oscillator by folding a piezoelectric sheet having the electrodes on both surfaces in an odd number of times and in the form of a bellows. CONSTITUTION:A high molecular piezoelectric sheet 1 containing the electrodes 3 and 4 on both surfaces is folded in an odd number of times and in the form of a bellows. The folded sheet 1 is formed into a cylinder. This cylinder is cut in a desired length. Then at least both end faces of the entire surface are covered watertight with an insulated medium having the acoustic impedance density close to that of the medium to be used.
