Abstract

PURPOSE:To quickly drive a pile in the construction of a marine structure by arbitrarily adjusting the driving angle of a hammer by sliding the position of a hanging leader attached to a pile-driving tower. CONSTITUTION:A hanging leader 1 is supported and hung on a pile-driving tower(ship) 5 by means of a catch fork 4 with a slide type guide. Then, the inclined angle and height of the hanging leader 1 are so set that the erected pile 18 can be driven by a hammer 2. At a time when the hammer 2 is dropped from the point A to the point B, the catch fork 4 is removed from a can 3, the leader 1 is brought down to a desired level, and then the cap 3 is again fixed to the catch fork 4 and the driving condition of the hammer 2 is set. Also, the pile- driving ship 5 is made to approach by as much as the height difference for adjustment. By this, an inclined angle from vertical driving to slant driving can be arbitrarily obtained and also the hanging leader 1 can be made shorter. Thus, the weight of the device can be reduced and the installation cost can also be cut down.
