Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title compsn. which rapidly vulcanizes to give cured articles having improved physical properties, by incorporating a quaternary ammonium salt or a quaternary phosphonium salt, a polyhydroxy compd. and calcium hydroxide in a chlorine-contg. polymer.
CONSTITUTION: A chlorine-contg. polymer, sulfur and/or sulfur-supplying compd., a quaternary ammonium salt and/or a quaternary phosphonium salt, a polyhydroxy compd. and calcium hydroxide are blended together and kneaded. Examples of said chlorine-contg. polymers are polyepichlorohydrin and polyvinyl chloride. Examples of said sulfur-supplying compds. are tetramethyl-thiuram disulfide and dipentamethylenethiuram tetrasulfide. Examples of said quaternary salts are tetrapropylammonium chloride and benzyltriethylammonium iodide. Examples of said polyhydroxy compds. are diethylene glycol and trimethylolethane.
