Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce an Al alloy sheet, to be worked, excellent in strength, by homogenizing an Al alloy ingot containing specified amounts of Mn, Mg, Si, Cu and Cr, hot-rolling the homogenized ingot, heating the hot-rolled alloy, rapidly cooling the heated alloy, and then finally cold-rolling the alloy with a specified rolling ratio.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy ingot containing, by weitht%, 0.3W1.5Mn, 0.5W2Mg, 0.1W0.5Si, 0.2W0.4Cu and Cr<0.1 is homogenized 3hr or longer at a temperature below 570°C. Hot-rolling is started at 500W550°C and finished at a temperature below 240°C. After the hot-rolled alloy is heated 10min or shorter at 540°C or higher, the alloy is rapidly cooled to 100°C or lower within 30sec. Thereafter, final cold-rolling is done with a rolling ratio of 50% or more. When the alloy is heat-treated 1W5hr at 120W150°Cafter cold-rolled with 70% or less before the final cold-rolling, a more preferable result is obtained.
