Abstract
PURPOSE: To miniaturize an installation for producing a required amount of superpurified water and to save consumption of chemicals, by treating water, which has been treated with the conjunct use of hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet rays, in a reverse osmosis device and then in a polisher comprising a mixed bed-type ion exchange tower.
CONSTITUTION: Water A to be purified, esp. waste water used for washing electronic parts or the like, which contains a slight amount of organic substances, i.e. about 20mg/l or less of CODcr value, is introduced into a photooxidizing device 40. In the device 40, the organic substances in water A are oxidized and decomposed to a level of about 1mg/l or less with the conjunct use of H2O2 and ultraviolet rays. Water A is then treated in a reverse osmosis device 20. In the device 20, a few ppm of H2O2 may be preferably present for preventing the generation of slime. Water A is further introduced into a polisher 30 comprising a mixed bed-type ion exchange tower, and treated there. As a result, impurities are nearly perfectly separated from the water. Consequently, regenerated waste washing water can be reused as superpurified water.
