PURPOSE:To continue suppressing the stable combustion for a long periond of time suppressing the decrease of combustion quantity and the deterioration of exhaust gas caused by tar-like substance etc. by a method wherein a partition plate is arranged in an inner flame cylinder, and the sum of the areas in the openings is adjusted to a specified ratio to the areas of the partition plate. CONSTITUTION:A circular plate 5 is installed within an inner flame cylinder 2, a number of air holes 2a, 3a are formed in the inner flame cylinder 2 and an outerflame cylinder 3. Between the inner flame cylinder 2 and the outer flame cylinder 3 is formed a combustion space 6. A wick 10 held by both a wick inner cylinder 7 and a wick outer cylinder 8 is supported by a wick pressor 9. Openings 5a in the partition plate 5 are concentrated at a position spaced apart from the center thereof by a distance of r<=2/3.R and a sum of the areas of the openings 5a is made to be less than by 20% of the area of the partition plate 5. Thereby, it is possible to eliminate various kinds of disadvantages caused by tar- like substance by stabilizing the flames at the air holes of the inner flame cylin der.
