PURPOSE:In a head rest angle adjuster, to facilitate the adjustment of the angular position by securing a sector to a fixed side bracket shaft movable member then engaging step by step while placing another engaging mechanism movable in another direction at the end. CONSTITUTION:When rising a frame 28 to the rising direction, a sector 20 will rotate and the first tooth in a tooth section 22 will push a stopper rod 18 thereby second tooth will climb over along an elongated hole 14 and engages with a rod 18. When rising and rotating the frame 28 at the maximum, the rod 18 is pushed by a projected edge 23 of a sector tooth section 22 and moves to the outer end of the elongated hole 14, to engage the hook section 15 of an arm 17 thus to stop a stopper chip 25. Since the sector tooth section is disengaged, the sector 20 will be movable in the falling direction and when falling to the end the stopper chip 24 will contact against a stopper chip 16, thereby the arm 17 will fall down and the hook section 15 will move the rod 18 along the elongated hole 14 to engage with the first tooth of the sector tooth section 22. In such a manner the angle of the head rest 3 against the seat back 2 can be varied and adjusted.
