Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an Fe-Ni alloy which is improved in hot workability and whose wettability with glass is moderately secured, by regulating not more than the prescribed values respectively the quantities of impurities, that is, Mg and S in an Fe-Ni alloy containing prescribed proportions of C, Si, Mn, Ni and Cr.
CONSTITUTION: The Fe-Ni alloy contains as basic constituents up to 0.020% of C, up to 0.50% of Si, up to 1.5% of Mn, 32.0%W55.0% of Ni, up to 10% of Cr and the balance of Fe and impurities. Co can be substituted for up to 20.0% of Ni. As essential conditions, the impurities, that is, Mg and S should be up to 0.030% and 0.020% respectively, and the ratio of Mg%/S% should be regulated within 0.3W4.0.
