Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the maintenance and inspection of stations by connecting the input and output parts of a processor to checking fibers in by-pass mode by a switch for the station by-passing of an optical fiber network. CONSTITUTION:At a terminal station in a looped network, a receiver R receives an input IN from a trunk fiber and after necessary processing is performed by a station logical part SL, an output OUT is sent to the trunk line again by a transmitter[state (a)]. For mutual connection between trunk fibers for maintenance and inspection[state(b)], fibers 13 and 18 as an input and an output port are provided for the convenient connection of a measuring equipment, etc., thus facilitating the maintenance and inspection.
