Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately adjust the position of a cartridge, by providing an engagement slide mechanism between the half-cut facet of an adjusting shaft and the bottom of angular hole of a side part of a tool body which contains the cartridge fitted with a cutting tip.
CONSTITUTION: A cutaway step is provided on the side part of the tip of a tool body 1. A combinational internal hole 2 and an oblique angular hole 7 are opened in the body 1. A cartridge 11 fitted with a cutting tip 10 is placed in the hole 7 as if the cartridge 11 were bridged as to the hole 2. An engagement slide mechanism is provided between the bottom of the cartridge 11 and the half-cut facet of an adjusting shaft 12 which is inserted into the hole 2. When the shaft 12 is moved by oil pressure, for example, the cartridge 11 is caused to accurately slide in the hole 7 by the engagement slide mechanism to move the tool body 1 in or out in the radial direction. The position of the cartridge 11 can thus be accurately adjusted.
